我对这类的情况通常倾向于“不译”. 我担心的是, 本来就没有什么特殊含义, 如果翻译成"铬金系统", 可能更让人摸不着头脑, 也许最后还要加上一个脚注 "即Chrome System".<br />当然, "铬系统", 这个名字也很cool:)

不能够明确译出的时候可以留着，或者等以后方便了译之，或者音译，或者沿用不译。

如果词有十几个字母，那翻译一下还有意义（不过用缩写好像更合适），就6个字母，不用翻了，搜索也方便。<br /><br />反面教材：谷歌……

如果能找到一个比较合适的中文词，那最好了，因为只要中文词统一了，那搜索这个词语，可以马上找出相关的中文资料，但是，我不赞成翻译成铬金系统。翻译成铬金还不如不翻，因为搜索Chrome，可以搜到很详细的英文资料，有点基础的人还是可以理解的。
